The strategy for the development of the urban area of Bor focuses on the territory that was previously developed as an industrial center, built in the immediate vicinity of the mining and metallurgical complex. The city is one of the most endangered areas (hot spots) in Serbia, in terms of the degree of pollution and environmental degradation. Strong tourist potential is reflected in Brestovacka Banja, Bor Lake and the tourist center "Jelen" on Crni vrh.

Enhancing economic diversification in a local economy dominated by the mining industry. The project supports entrepreneurship by establishing a Startup Centre with two rural points in Zlot and Gornjane, introducing a Living Lab and a Digital Platform for a smart economy. It also includes infrastructural upgrades like smart systems and energy efficiency measures for the Business Incubator Centre Bor. The initiative directly supports 20 SMEs and will train 75 individuals, fostering a more diversified and resilient local economy.

Provision of a back-up server for the e-permitting systemE-permitting |
Improvement of the electronic system for the issuance of building permits through the provision of a back-up server, which will enhance its stability and availability for over 6,500 users that benefit from it every day. Server and network equipment were procured through the project, as well as necessary licences. The aim of this activity was to contribute to the creation of a more favourable business environment by improving the efficiency and transparency of the e-government and, ultimatively, to new investments. At the same time, citizens’ trust in institutions, as well as the quality of services that are being offered through the e-government will also be enhanced.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the social cohesion and inclusion of unemployed women, especially those from rural areas of Bor. The women will participate in know-how trainings that will improve their knowledge and skills relevant to tourism activities, ultimately improving their socio-economic position and contributing to rural and local tourism development. Relevant rural and tourism development organisations will be engaged through a study tour that will assist in learning how to best support business establishment and improve local tourist offer.

Improving the access to education and ensuring better career prospects for the members of marginalised youth in Bor in order to increase their employability.
