Improvement of health services in the municipality of Raška thanks to the EU support

The reconstruction of the health station in the Baljevac settlement in Raška municipality has started in order to provide the population with better health. The European Union (EU) supports this project through the EU PRO Plus Programme, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration.

The works, financed by the EU with almost 180,000 Euros, include the insulation of external walls and mezzanine structures, the replacement of woodwork and the installation of pellet boilers, as well as the construction of an access ramp for people with disabilities. Additionally, within the project, one mobile ECG device, one defibrillator, one dry steriliser and an ambulance will be procured.

"We continuously work to improve the quality of health services that patients receive in the Health Center and in all six health stations on the territory of the municipality. The health station in Baljevac, which has a department for the health care of children and adults, patronage and dental practice, with the support of the EU and the participation of the municipality of almost 50,000 Euros, will significantly raise the quality and efficiency of services, while the new equipment will also contribute to this end," said the Mayor of Raška, Nemanja Popovic. As he added a new heating system and installed insulation will contribute to the energy efficiency of facility, but it will also enable savings to be used to purchase other necessary medical equipment for this health station.

The "Association of Psychologists Novi Pazar", which is a partner in the project, will also provide six-month legal assistance to users, and organise workshops on the topic of workplace health.

The works performed by Biro Ramark company from Čačak, selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Raška, will last 90 days.
