"Prijepolje will soon have a functional, modernly equipped park which, most importantly, will also be safe, because during the project lighting and video surveillance will be installed," said the Mayor of the Prijepolje municipality, Vladimir Babić, adding that the EU allocated more than 172,000 Euros for the park adaptation while the municipality participates with almost 40,000 Euros. "We have in particular tried to ensure that the park and the content it offers are accessible to all citizens, so that people, especially children and young people with disabilities, have access paths and equipment that is adapted and safe for their use" said the Mayor of Prijepolje.
As Babić reminded, during the first phase of the renovation, which was financed with 37.8 million Dinars by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications with the municipal participation of two million Dinars, the sports fields for basketball, futsal, volleyball and tennis were asphalted, a protective grid over the reconstructed drainage channel was installed and a staircase inside the stands was concreted.
The works are conducted by the group of bidders, “Muskulus“ d.o.o from Belgrade and „Jonović gradnja“ from Prijepolje, selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Prijeoplje, will last 90 days.
The project in Prijepolje is one of 33 local infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus programme with more than five million Euros in order to improve the quality of life of people through the renovation and reconstruction of educational, health and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and improvement of communal infrastructure and public administration buildings.
