The works on the interior renovation of this pre-school institutionwith worth total of 232,265 Euros include the replacement of internal doors and foors, renovation and equipping of toilets, painting, renovation of the boiler room inlcuding the replacement of the complete installation and equipment in the boiler room with the construction of a new pellet boiler plant, all resulting in improved services this institution provides to children, but also the working conditions for employees.
"In the previous two years, the municipality of Babušnica, in cooperation with donors and relevant ministries, actively worked on the renovation of the kindergarten, the carpentry was replaced, thermal insulation and a new facade were installed, a new van was purchased for transporting children, while we also eqipped the playground. Now, with the support of the European Union, we will finish the two-year renovation of this only preschool institution in our municipality", said the Mayorof the Babušnica municipality, Ivana Stojičić. She added that in addition to more than 179,000 Euros that the EU allocated for this project, the municipality will participate in the implementation with almost 53,000 Euros. The construction of a sensory room is also planned, which will especially contribute to the development of children with disabilities, attending this preschool, through therapy that contributes to concentration, calmness and socialization, as well as better social inclusion.
The deadline for the completion of works to be carried out by two companies, SK Montinženjering doo from Babušnica for construction works and Toplota doo from Pirot for mechanical installations, selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Babušnica, is 75 days.
The project in Babušnica is one of 33 local infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus programme with more than five million Euros in order to improve the quality of life of people through the renovation and reconstruction of educational, health and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and improvement of communal infrastructure and public administration buildings
