Radoš Works with Heart, Heals with Knowledge—and the New Equipment Helps Too

A veterinary clinic is not just a place where pets receive medical care—it’s often a magical place where love for animals turns into action, every single day.

In Niš, thanks to the support of the European Union through the EU PRO Plus programme, veterinarian Radoš Mitić was able to upgrade his services—purchasing a modern ultrasound machine and haematology analyser, creating a new job, and once again showing how much a small place can truly mean.

The total project value is 19,319 Euros, of which the European Union provided 14,861 Euros in grants, with the remaining amount co-funded by the entrepreneur himself. As part of his socially responsible practice, Radoš also offers complimentary services to the animals of the "Zoo Planet" mini-zoo—because caring for animals doesn’t stop when the clinic doors close.

This is his story…

This initiative was part of a broader effort by the EU PRO Plus programme to strengthen local economic development through backing of micro and small enterprises local self-governments across Šumadija and Western Serbia, and Southern and Eastern Serbia. The Public Call for Proposals for Procurement of Equipment and Introduction of Services for Entrepreneurs, Micro, and Small Enterprises resulted in 113 projects (out of 610 applications received) with a total value of 3,564,397 Euros. The EU provided 2,731,787 Euros to support enterprises focused on production and services, including information technology, architectural and engineering activities, health and social care, tourism, and maintenance and repair services. The initiative included job creation proportional to grant size and corporate social responsibility benefiting local communities.
