The EU supports construction of the first children's playground in the Bačina village in the municipality of Varvarin

The village of Bačina in the municipality of Varvarin will get its first playground with the support of the European Union (EU), which provided nearly 74,000 Euros for the works through the EU PRO Plus programme, which is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration.

The project includes the construction of a children's playground on an area of 3,000 square metres, with sidewalks, green areas, as well as the procurement and installation of playground equipment, including smart solar benches.

"Thanks to the EU support, children in Bačina will get a playground, with modern and safe equipment. In this way, we create conditions for people to stay and live and work in our municipality, while particularly paying attention to rural areas and investing efforts to ensure conditions for sports, cultural and other social activities", said the Mayor of Varvarin Violeta Lutovac Đurđević.

The deadline for the completion of works to be carried out by the company Džungla 035 doo from Jagodina, selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Varvarin, is 45 days.

The project in Varvarin is one of 33 local infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus programme with more than five million Euros in order to improve the quality of life of people through the  renovation and reconstruction of educational, health and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and improvement of communal infrastructure and public administration buildings.
