The public infrastructure development, financed by the EU with close to 180,000 Euros, included the reconstruction of a cinema hall with 200 seats, installation of ventilation (heating/cooling), external wall insulation, installation of solar panels and provision of access for people with disabilities. The municipality invested 118,000 Euros in the project, and the result is a modern facility that meets all environmental and safety standards, including fire protection and modern air conditioning and ventilation systems.
The project in Merošina is one of 37 local infrastructure projects supported by the EU PRO Plus programme in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia, and Southern and Eastern Serbia. With close to six million Euros in funding, the programme aims to improve the quality of life by renovating educational, health, and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and enhancing communal infrastructure and public administration buildings.
