Additionally, the park in Mataruška Banja has been enhanced with a new children's playground, 80 new benches, and 40 waste bins, adding to the area’s appeal and functionality.
Mayor of Kraljevo Predrag Terzić highlighted, "In partnership with the European Union, we have embarked on a vital mission to restore Mataruška Banja’s former glory. This spa, long neglected, is seeing a revival thanks to EU support and domestic investment. This project paves the way for new tourism investments and economic development, while also creating new jobs."
The City of Kraljevo also contributed nearly 68,000 Euros towards the project’s success.
The initiative in Kraljevo is part of a broader effort by the EU PRO Plus Programme, which supports 20 economic infrastructure projects across Šumadija and Western Serbia, Southern and Eastern Serbia with over five million Euros. These projects are designed to boost local competitiveness by enhancing business conditions and attracting new investments, covering the construction and reconstruction of industrial and tourist zones, and preparing technical documentation for economic infrastructure development.
