The works financed by the EU with 162,000 Euros include the entire reconstruction and extension of the existing building, which will be equipped with furniture, kitchen and sanitary elements in accordance with the standards prescribed for the functioning of the day centre. In partnership with the Association of Citizens, the Bojnik Municipal Council and the Centre for Social Work of the Municipality of Lebane, the daycare service for children and youth with developmental disabilities will be licensed while the service provider will be selected.
"This is a really important project for the municipality as the children and young people with developmental disabilities will get their own day care centre in a new facility with all the necessary conditions and contents that such an institution should have. With the support of the European Union, we are working to improve the quality of life of people in Lebane with special attention given to the vulnerable and improving their social inclusion", said the Mayor of Lebane, Ivan Bogdanović.
The works performed by the company Investgradnja doo from Leskovac, selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Lebane, will last 120 days.
The project in Lebane is one of 33 local infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus programme with more than five million Euros in order to improve the quality of life of people through the renovation and reconstruction of educational, health and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and improvement of communal infrastructure and public administration buildings.
