EU for better business environment in Preševo ​​- the infrastructure equipping of the industrial zone has started

"By completing the works on the communal infrastructure in the industrial zone, covering the  area of ​​16ha, we will ensure favorable conditions for business activity in the municipality. As the zone is located near Corridor 10, it has great potential for investments and strengthening of the local economy, which leads to the creation of jobs and a better standard of living for our citizens", said the Mayor of Preševo, Ardita Sinani. The municipality of Preševo ​​participates in the implementation of this project with a significant amount of 544,000 Euros.

"With the support of the European Union and in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration, the municipality of Preševo ​​has started work on the equipment of the industrial zone in order to improve the competitiveness of the municipality and the local economy. Through the EU PRO Plus programme, the EU in particular focuses on smaller municipalities because there it is important to create a favorable business environment for investments and employment opportunities, so that young people have the perspective of staying to live and work in their towns," said the EU PRO Plus Programme Manager, Olivera Kostić.

She reminded that in the previous period, with the support of the EU, the basis for works in the zone was laid through the development of a detailed regulation plan, and that Preševo ​​is among the 20 local self-governments in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia in which the EU through EU PRO Plus supports the projects aimed at improving  economic infrastructure with over five million Euros. These projects are to improve competitiveness at the local level by improving the business environment and attracting new investments.

The works in the industrial zone in Preševo, which will last 90 days, is being carried out by the company Saba Belča from Preševo, which was selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Preševo.
