Empowering Children with Disabilities in Leskovac

With the support of the EU through the EU PRO Plus programme, the Parent-Teacher Association "Partnership for Education" in Leskovac successfully improved counselling, therapeutic, and educational services for 48 children with disabilities. Through the project, valued at 31,785 Euros (with 25,727 Euros from EU funds and 6,058 Euros in co-funding), the Association established neurofeedback therapy and conducted research on its impact on children with developmental disabilities.

This initiative was part of a broader effort by the EU PRO Plus programme to enhance social services in 23 local self-governments across Šumadija and Western Serbia, and Southern and Eastern Serbia. With total funding of 521,629 Euros, the programme supported 20 projects aimed at improving the quality and sustainability of local social services. These projects, implemented by civil society organisations independently or in partnership with local self-governments, focused on providing adequate social services to children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. Additionally, they aimed to reduce the negative impact of Covid-19 on vulnerable groups and improve the resilience of public institutions and other social service providers.
