Better conditions in the Preschool "Lane" in Osečina with the support of the European Union

The reconstruction of the building of the "Lane" Preschool institution in Ocečina is underway thanks to the European Union (EU) support provided through the EU PRO Plus programme, which is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration.

In order to improve conditions for around 190 children and staff working in the kindergarten, works worth almost 84,000 Euros include the reconstruction of the old part of the roof, the purchase of electronic equipment, while the local self-government will also develop the Osečina Municipality Development Programme.

"In the last two years the municipality of Osečina, in cooperation with the competent ministry, added two facilities for stay in the "Lane" kindergarten thus solving the long-standing problem with the admission of children to the institution. We have ensured in this way that every child can be admitted to kindergarten, without a waiting list. With the project including the reconstruction  of the roof on the old part of the kindergarten, we will also solve the problem of leakage, and thus provide better and healthier conditions for children to stay, as well as a more energy-efficient facility", said Nikola Tomić, Mayor of the Municipality of Osečina.

The European Union finances the project with more than 71,000 Euros, while the participation of the municipality amounts to 12,587 Euros.

The deadline for the completion of the works performed by the Stanković Dragan PR construction company from Mali Zvornik, selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Osečina, is 30 calendar days.

The project in Osečina is one of 33 local infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus programme with more than five million Euros in order to improve the quality of life of people through the  renovation and reconstruction of educational, health and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and improvement of communal infrastructure and public administration buildings.
