The EU will fund the interior works that include partial replacement of floors, renovation of two toilets, replacement of interior carpentry, painting, as well as the purchase of air conditioners and televisions for the waiting room in the pediatrics department. The municipality of Raška participates in the realisation of the project with almost 17,000 Euros.
The municipality of Raška will also start work on the energy renovation of the health centre in the coming period, which will be financed with the funds of the Republic of Serbia through the Directorate for Financing and Encouraging Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Mining and Energy.
Last year, the X-ray department was reconstructed and a new digital X-ray machine was purchased, which along with the installation of an elevator greatly improved the accessibility of certain departments to patients. After the completion of all works, this health institution will be completely renovated and the quality and accessibility of health services will be significantly enhanced.
The project in Raška is one of 39 local infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus programme with over six million Euros in order to improve the quality of life of people through the renovation and reconstruction of educational, health and social care institutions, sports and cultural facilities, and improvement of communal infrastructure and public administration buildings.
